02 What data we collect
timml is designed to collect as little data as possible. In most cases, that's none at all.
timml does not collect:
- Audio recordings — microphone input is processed in real time on your device and immediately discarded
- Personal information — no name, email, or account is required to use the app
- Location data
- Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
- Crash reports sent to us directly
The only data associated with your use of timml is:
- App preferences stored locally on your device (theme, saved patterns) via iOS UserDefaults
- Subscription status managed by Apple and RevenueCat (see section 04)
03 Microphone access
timml requires microphone access to detect the tempo and style of your music. This is the core function of the app.
- Audio is analyzed on-device using Apple's AVFoundation and Accelerate frameworks
- No audio is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party
- No recordings are made or stored at any point
- You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → timml → Microphone
04 Subscriptions & payments
timml Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status.
- We never see or store your payment information
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to verify subscription status — no personal data
- Apple's privacy policy governs all payment processing: apple.com/legal/privacy
- RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
05 Third-party services
timml uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — subscription management. Receives: anonymous app user ID, subscription state. Does not receive: audio, personal information.
- Apple App Store — app distribution and payment processing.
- Apple CloudKit — if you save patterns, they may be stored in your personal iCloud account. This data is encrypted and only accessible to you.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, advertising networks, or any other tracking services.
06 Children's privacy
timml does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ because it contains no objectionable content.
07 Data retention
Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to retain or delete. App preferences stored on your device are removed when you uninstall the app.
08 Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, and delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we hold no personal data, there is nothing to access or delete. For questions, contact us at privacy[at]plaintiffy[dot]com.
09 Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of timml after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10 Community Drum Kits
If you submit drum samples for inclusion in timml's Community Kits, the following applies:
- By submitting samples, you confirm they are your own original work or that you hold full distribution rights
- You grant timml a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to include your samples in the app and to promote them
- You will be credited by the name or handle you provide
- We review all submissions before they go live; we reserve the right to reject or remove any submission at our discretion, including after publication if a rights concern arises
- Submission data (audio files, name, description, contact email) is stored to process your submission and is not used for any other purpose
- You may request removal of your kit at any time by contacting us
